Facilities for Hire

We have two bases that our Scout group uses:
Our land headquarters, Lilac Grove and our river base, Barton Island.

Our Lilac Grove headquarters is typically only used for Scout meetings. The facilities of the main building are very old and very basic; a small kitchen, no oven and male and female toilets. It can seat approximately 50 people. It’s usually available during the day, on Wednesday evenings and at weekends. We are unable to facilitate any overnight bookings at Lilac Grove HQ. We typically charge £17 per hour for rental of the main hall. This may be more based on your requirements.
We are currently fundraising for a new building that will be much more suitable for our Scouts and for the community. You can find out more here.

Barton Island is our unique facility for water-based activities and camping. Located on the River Trent near Attenborough nature reserve, it is also a fantastic wild life haven. It is equipped 2 landing stages, a large storm shelter and huts suitable for small groups of children to change or sleep in. The island is also equipped with basic toilet facilities. Please note there is no running water or mains electricity on Barton Island. You can find out more about Barton Island here.
