Sea Scouts Neckerchief

The Sea Scout necker is worn in a different way to most Scouts you’ll have seen before. This guide should help a Scout fold neckerchief each week. We do encourage Scouts to iron and fold their own neckerchiefs.

Step 1 – Lay out the neckerchief in front of you – making sure the back of the badge is facing you

Step 2 – Fold the long edge so it runs half way down the back of the badge and iron flat

Step 3 – Fold the top edge down so it lines up with the long edge. Iron flat.

Step 4 – Repeat the same fold again so it lines up with the long edge, you’ll notice a zig zag of yellow on either side, now iron flat.

Step 5 – If you now turn over the neckerchief, it should look like this!

Note: The only gold colour that should be showing is on the ends and the middle portion of the necker as above.

How to Tie your Sea Scout necker using the Discovery knot

We haven’t yet captured a video on how to tie the neckerchief, however we’ll show you how its done on a Friday evening, and before long, you’ll be an expert!

Scouting is a diverse and inclusive movement where all children have access everything we have on offer. If the cost of uniform prevents your child from joining us please speak to us on a Monday evening before or after Cubs. We’ll find somewhere out of the way and talk you through our support options. Alternatively you can email us.
