A generous grant from East Midlands Airport Community Fund has funded new buoyancy aids for our younger sections.

This has allowed us to have more young people on the water at a time, having fun and gaining water confidence.

After a long break away from normal meetings, the Beavers and Cubs are really enjoying their first sessions on the water using the new equipment. All the children in the group are now into the summer programme of activities which includes working towards their Paddle Power awards.

Now that we have sufficient buoyancy aids for all members of the group they can get experience in kayaks, sit on kayaks, paddle boards and Canadian Canoes. #SkillsForLife

Since April 2002, the East Midlands Airport Community Fund has helped over 1,384 initiatives benefit from over £1,101,094. Money from the fund has gone to a diverse range of projects from equipment for village halls to the development of a wildlife area.
