Love being on, in or near the water? The Water Team is for you. You’ll help run water sessions across the whole Group — no section commitment required, and there’s always room for more.

What you’ll do

  • Help run water sessions: rigging boats, coaching beginners, crewing safety cover.
  • Share your skills — paddling, sailing, rowing — or learn them with us from scratch.
  • Work towards activity permits and qualifications, with training supported by the Group.
  • Help look after boats and water kit alongside the Quartermaster.
  • Lend a hand at events: section meetings, camps, and open days.
  • Follow the safety brief every time — and help young people love the water as much as you do.

The bigger this team, the more time everyone spends afloat.

Every adult role includes a friendly welcome conversation, a DBS check and free training — and a team that’s got your back.
