Reports to: Scouts Team Leader
This is Sea Scouting at full sail. You’ll help plan and run a programme that gets Scouts onto the water for six months of the year, regularly sleeping under canvas and out of their comfort zones — safely. The Troop is at the heart of Scouting at 2nd Beeston, and right now we could do with some extra hands.
What you’ll do
- Plan and deliver an exciting, balanced programme: paddling, sailing, pioneering, camps, nights away, and more.
- Support Patrol Leaders and Young Leaders to take real responsibility — it’s their programme too.
- Help Scouts work towards badges and top awards, including the Chief Scout’s Gold Award.
- Prepare risk assessments and follow the rules for adventurous and water activities.
- If it floats your boat, work towards activity permits (for example paddle sports) with our support.
- Build great relationships with parents and carers, and with the wider Group team.
