Our current headquarters building is now over 65 years old. It has lasted us well, but is now showing signs of its' age. The asbestos roof is leaking, wall blocks are crumbling, the kitchen and toilets are in poor condition, its' poorly thermal properties make it expensive to heat. In addition it is not large enough for the group, and lacks suitable facilities to make it usable by other community groups.
We need to raise a substantial sum of money, at least £250,000 in 3 years to build a new headquarters.
A site survey has been completed.
We have an architect's plan for the new building.
A 25 year lease has been signed with Broxtowe Borough Council.
An application for planning permission has been submitted.
Once the planning permission has been granted we will have cleared all the initial hurdles.
All that we need to do now is raise at least £250,000
There is a little uncertainty about how much we need to raise. Experienced project managers have made informal estimates of the build cost. We have yet to have a formal build cost.
