Barton Island is our River Base on the River Trent.

Located at Attenborough, it is ideal for water activities with a sheltered back water for learning the basic of kayaking and sailing.

Barton Island also has several wooden chalets, a leaders base, a main deck and camping opportunities.

The Island is used by the Scouts from May until September each year, meeting every week with a number of different water activities on offer. we tend to offer Kayaking, Pulling, Power boating and Sailing.

Although the Island is predominantly used by the Scouts and the Explorers, it has also been used to offer water activities to the Cub Scouts.

This is a fantastic facility which is well used, and maintained by the Scout Group and its leadership team.
